Fewcha Wallet is a Web 3 wallet for the Aptos and Sui blockchains that allows users to store, send, and swap tokens and NFTs.
It is a gateway to a universe of applications on the Aptos blockchain.
Fewcha Wallet is one of the best alternatives to Martian Aptos and Petra Wallet. Like other Web 3 wallets, you only hold full control of your funds at all times. It is the only Aptos wallet that comes with a dark mode feature.
Currently, Fewcha Wallet is available as a Chrome extension, and soon we can expect the iOS application of it.
How to Create and Set Up Fewcha Wallet?
To use Fewcha Wallet, first you need to download the extension.
Then, you need to create your Fewcha Wallet account.
The account creation process includes setting a new password and backing up the recovery phrase.
Steps to Create and Set Up Fewcha Wallet
- Install Fewcha Wallet Extension
- Click “Create a new wallet”
- Set a New Password
- Backup and Verify the Recovery Phrase
- Use Fewcha Wallet
1. Install Fewcha Wallet Extension
If you have already installed the Fewcha Wallet extension, you can skip this step.
First, you need to add the extension to the Chrome browser.
To do so, visit the Fewcha Wallet website and click “Get Extension”. Now, you will be taken to the Chrome Web Store, where you can install the extension.
2. Click “Create a new wallet”
After the installation, the extension gets opened automatically in a new tab. If not, click the “puzzle icon” and navigate to Fewcha Wallet and open it.
Now, you will get to see two options: “Create a new wallet” and “Use an existing wallet”. Click “Create a new wallet”.
Next, you will be asked to select your default blockchain. If you want to set Aptos as your default, go for it, or select Sui blockchain.
3. Set a New Password
It’s now time to set a password for your Fewcha Wallet account. This password is to access your Fewcha Wallet from your current device.
Set a strong and easy-to-remember password with a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
Lastly, click “Continue”.
Since it is a non-custodial wallet, the password gets stored on your device, not on the server of Fewcha Wallet. Hence, the wallet team cannot recover your password if it is lost.
However, you can reset your Fewcha Wallet password by yourself with the recovery phrase.
4. Backup and Verify the Recovery Phrase
Now, the wallet will display the 12-word secret recovery phrase. Make sure to check that nobody is behind or around you. If anyone has access to these secret recovery phrases of yours, they will have full control over your wallet.
Since Fewcha Wallet is a decentralized wallet, you need to rely on this secret recovery phrase to restore your password or restore your account on different devices.
Note down your secret recovery phrase and store it in a secure place where you only have access to it. The best way to store data is physically, not digitally.
Next, you will be asked to verify your secret recovery phrase. Select it in the right order and click “Continue”.
Now, you are all set to use Fewcha Wallet.
5. Use Fewcha Wallet
After creating and setting up Fewcha Wallet, you will land on the homepage.
On the homepage, you can view your account balance, send and receive tokens and NFTs, import other wallets, and register new coins.
To interact with Aptos dApps, click “Explorer” and to check your recent transfers, click “Activities”.
To change the password, reset the wallet, enable dark mode, and access the address book, go to the “Settings” section.
To lock your Fewcha Wallet, click “mnemonic” or “your account name (if you have changed it)” in the top left corner.
Installing and creating a Fewcha Wallet account is a simple task.
The two crucial steps in creating a Fewcha Wallet account are setting up the password and backing up the recovery phrase.
All your assets can be accessed by anyone with your seed phrase. Keep your secret phrase safe by following best practices.
If you lose your secret recovery phrase, nobody can access your account—even Fewcha Wallet developers.
Beware of the scams floating around. At any point in time, nobody from the Fewcha Wallet team will ask for your recovery phrase.
