In this article, I will explain how I changed my TokenPocket Wallet password in just 1 minute, with proper screenshots.
You can’t actually recover your old TokenPocket Wallet password. But, you can set a new password.
How to Reset TokenPocket Wallet Password?
Resetting the TokenPocket Wallet password is always possible and easy, unless and until you lose your secret recovery phrase.
In case you have lost your backup of the secret recovery phrase, you can find it under “Account details” on the TokenPocket Wallet extension or mobile application.
The secret recovery phrase or seed phrase is a unique 12/15/24-word phrase that will be given to each TokenPocket Wallet user at the time of creating the TokenPocket Wallet account.
To reset TokenPocket Wallet password, you need to click “Restore your account”.
Then, by entering your secret recovery phrase, you can set a new password.
To reset the password in the TokenPocket mobile application, you need to uninstall the application and reinstall it.
Steps to Reset TokenPocket Wallet Password
- Lock your TokenPocket Wallet
- Click “Restore your account”
- Enter your Secret Recovery Phrase
- Set a New Password
1. Lock your TokenPocket Wallet
If you have already forgotten your TokenPocket Wallet password, you can skip this step and move on to the next.
If you are the person who wants to change your TokenPocket Wallet, you need to first lock your account.
To lock your TokenPocket Wallet, click the “three parallel” icon located in the upper right corner of your wallet.
Then, click the “Lock” button.
Once you have locked your account, you will land on the entry page of your wallet.
2. Click “Restore your account”
On the entry page of your TokenPocket Wallet, just under the “Unlock” button, you will be able to see the “Restore your account” option.
To reset the password, first, you need to click on that option.
3. Enter your Secret Recovery Phrase
The secret recovery phrase has full control over your account.
With your secret recovery phrase, you can reset your TokenPocket Wallet password ‘n’ number of times.
Enter your TokenPocket secret recovery phrase in the given box by separating each word with a space.
Selecting the “Show recovery phrase checkbox” will help you type the recovery phrase without making any mistakes.
If you enter another secret recovery phrase, your current wallet account/s, assets will be removed from your extension/ application.
4. Set a New Password
Now, you are all set to change your TokenPocket Wallet password.
The password must be at least 8 characters and contain at least one number and one special character.
Enter the new password in the given fields.
Lastly, click “Restore”.
Conclusion
It is impossible to reset/ change your password without the secret recovery phrase. On top of that, losing the secret recovery phrase will result in the loss of assets.
Always ensure you have taken a backup of your recovery phrase before resetting the password.
