For the purpose of this guide, we will be using the Coinbase Wallet mobile application.

After downloading the wallet, you will be given a 12-word seed/ recovery phrase. Ensure to store it in a safe place.

At this point in time, you also need to set a password to access your Coinbase wallet.

Once you are done with the installation process, open your Coinbase wallet.

2. Tap Receive and select a coin

Once you are inside the Coinbase Wallet application, you can see Send, Receive, and Trade options on your dashboard.

Click on Receive.

Now, you need to select the crypto asset that you want to transfer from your Coinbase account to your Coinbase wallet.

Type in the search box to find the asset.

Here, we will be transferring ETH from Coinbase to Coinbase Wallet.

3. Copy the address

Tap on the crypto asset once you have found it.

Now, you can see a QR code and wallet address down below.

You can copy the address just by clicking on the address.

4. Go to your Coinbase account

Now, go to the Coinbase website.

Get sign in by typing your email address and password.

5. Click on Send/ Receive

Once you are inside your Coinbase account, you can see Send/ Receive on the top right corner of your dashboard.

Click on it.

6. Paste your Coinbase wallet address

Now, you will be able to see Send/ Receive window.

By default, you will be on Send tab.

You need to select the cryptocurrency that you wish to send in the Pay With field.

Then, paste the Coinbase Wallet address you have copied a while ago in the To field.

Note field can be left as empty as it is optional.

Finally, enter the amount of cryptocurrency that have selected to transfer.

Then, click Continue.

7. Enter the verification code

Upon clicking Continue, there will be a confirmation pop-up.

Review the address, amount, and gas fee.

Click Send Now.

Now, a verification code will be sent to your registered phone number.

You need to type in to proceed further on the transfer.

8. Check your Coinbase Wallet

After submitting the verification code, your transfer will be successful.

You can head back to your Coinbase wallet and see the balance under the Coins tab.

1. Why can’t I transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase Wallet?

You can’t transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase Wallet if the sum of the transfer amount and network fee exceeds your account balance.

Also, if your funds are on hold, you can only buy and sell; you are not allowed to transfer. Hence, wait for a few days until your bank clears the funds.
