What is Shoe-Minting in STEPN?
Shoe-Minting Event (SME) in STEPN is a process of breeding two NFT sneakers to get a new NFT sneaker.
The new sneaker comes in the form of a Shoebox instantly. The Shoebox can be opened immediately or later.
The 2 sneakers used in SME are known as Vintages or Parents.
Prerequisites to Mint a Sneaker in STEPN
- Two sneakers with Level 5 or higher
- Vintages (Parent sneakers) need to be in users’ possession (not leased out) and have full durability
- Enough minting cost (GST/ GMT) in your wallet
- Minting Scrolls
Key Points to Know About Minting
- A sneaker can be used to mint up to 7 times
- Sneakers in the leveling up process cannot be used for minting
- The more mints the shoes have, the more expensive they become
- There is a cool-down period of 72 hours for both parents and the children
- The cost of minting will be changed often according to the supply and demand of both GST and GMT
- The sneaker attributes, such as efficiency, luck, comfort, and resilience are according to their quality, regardless of their Vintage’s (Parent’s) attributes.
- Legendary Sneaker Drop is currently disabled
How to Mint Sneakers in STEPN
To mint sneakers in STEPN, select any one of your Level 5 or above sneakers.
Then, tap the Mint button at the bottom of the mobile screen.
Now, you need to select your second sneaker. To select, the second sneaker, tap the empty shoe icon.
Once you have added your two sneakers, you will get to see the minting price.
If you are satisfied, tap on Mint.
After tapping on Mint, a Shoebox will come instantly.
How to Get a Twin Shoebox? Is it Possible?
It is possible to get a twin Shoebox in STEPN. The chances of getting a multiple Shoebox are directly proportional to the Mint count of the Vintage (Parent) sneakers. I.e. High Mint count = Higher chances of a Twin Shoebox.
What is the Cool Down Period in STEPN?
Cool down period in STEPN occurs just after the shoe-minting process. The cool-down period in STEPN is 72 hours. During the cool-down period, Vintages (Parent sneakers) and the child sneaker cannot be used for the next mint until 72 hours. However, it can be used for movements.
What are the Shoe-Minting Costs?
The cost of Shoe-Minting is subject to change often according to the supply and demand of both GST and GMT.
